Phase I: Workshops - ASEM GrIPP-Net (2002 - 2003)
Phase II: Workshops - EC-ASEAN GrIPP-Net (2004 - 2005)

In order to have a better understanding of the involvement of alternative mining methods and the involvement of energy resources, you should attend workshops, read advance writing and also various books/researches on these topics. In this way, you will be aware of technological developments and understand why we should use alternative energy resources.

Phase I: Workshops - ASEM GrIPP-Net (2002 - 2003)

During the first phase of the GrIPP-Network (2002 - 2003), four workshops were conducted in line with its objectives of supporting the dissemination of the Green IPP concept, and to transfer experiences made in European power markets on success factors and market potentials of Green IPPs as well as on policies suitable to support them to Southeast Asian countries. In addition, these workshops served as appropriate venues to disseminate knowledge on financing concepts for private investments in renewable energy projects in Asia.

Two workshops each were conducted in Asia and in Europe. These workshops dealt with different subjects in the Green power business.

The first workshop took place on the 24th-25th of October in Bangkok, Thailand, where an overview of the current stage of the renewable energy sources in Southeast Asia was given. Discussions on different market conditions in these countries and their impact on project development were encouraged. Target groups of this workshop are regional policy makers interested in sustainable energy supply structures as well as regional and foreign investors seeking new investment opportunities in the renewable energy business, particularly in Southeast Asia.

Phase II
: Workshops - EC-ASEAN GrIPP-Net (2004 - 2005)

The EC-ASEAN GrIPP Net will conduct four workshops. These workshops are in line with the projects objectives of addressing the issues, challenges and strategies for the Green IPPs in ASEAN. The project moreover aims at transferring experiences from the European power markets on success factors and market potentials of renewable energy projects to Southeast Asia. In addition, these workshops will provide a platform for discussion and knowledge sharing for players in the energy market who are interested in renewable energies, as well as in Southeast Asian and European energy systems and policies.

Three (3) National workshops will be organized, one each in Philippines, Thailand, and Malaysia. One (1) Regional workshop will be conducted in Germany. These workshops will deal with the current development of GrIPPs.
